My skill set is constantly expanding to meet the needs of an instructional designer in 2021. I've created graphics, animations, videos, manuals, and more over the years and have been able to add multiple tools to my tool belt. I have worked on multiple Learning Management Systems and created courses that range from Maths and Accounting to Visual Arts.

TRAINING

I started training at institutions in 2013 as a Turnitin trainer. I became a Blackboard Certified Trainer in 2014 and traveled around Southern Africa conducting over 50 training sessions which also transformed into customized training to meet the needs of different institutions. Over the last few years, I transitioned into working a lot more on Moodle and conducting Moodle training. I have trained on Instructional Design and the Blackboard eTeacher series: Course A, Fundamentals of Digital Teaching and Learning, and Course B, Designing for Digital Teaching and Learning.

My approach to training is very practical and hands-on. I have had numerous people walk into training sessions nervous about technology and at the end of the training walked away excited about the possibilities. I am adaptable, patient, and versatile depending on the participants, and happy to admit when I can't answer a question but will research the answer. I've trained at a full spectrum of institutions, from top universities with access to all the best of technology to institutions where some lecturers had to be shown how to scroll with a mouse. I've trained in large rooms face-to-face and asynchronously online.
